January 31, 2008 - Brad Johner Celebrates $10,000 Musical Instrument Grant Courtesy of EMI Music Canada with Saskatoon School

Saskatoon native Brad Johner celebrated a MusiCan Band Aid instrument grant with Pope John Paul II Elementary School on Thursday, January 31st. The school is the recent recipient of a $10,000 grant from the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences’ (CARAS) music education program. The grant is a generous donation from EMI Music Canada, who raised the proceeds for the grant at their post 2007 JUNO Awards party in Saskatoon.

"It’s so exciting to be involved in something like this," says Johner about presenting the cheque. "Music has been a positive influence in my life and my family's life, even outside the obvious career choice," commented Johner. "Keeping music in schools should be a priority-- I believe it’s just as important as reading and writing, it’s important to Canadian culture."
